The Gift of Helping People

God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. This is why he sent Christ to make us what we are.
Ephesians 2:10 (CEV)

Have you thought about how God blesses the world by giving us people who help us? He gives doctors smart brains, professional athletes strong bodies, artists amazing imaginations. He helps some people speak, others invent, others teach. He helps your parents take care of you. Who’s your favorite helper?

Guess what? God has a job for you to do, too, when you get big… and even now! He wants us to practice using things we are good at to help others. Maybe you can patiently take care of people when they are sick. Maybe you are good at teaching your little brother how to play a new game. Maybe you are usually joyful so you’re good at making people laugh when they are sad! Maybe you are a good friend or are good at telling others about Jesus!

Isn’t it amazing how much God loves us to give us these good gifts? He made you just the way you are . . . and there is a reason for it! By using your gifts for God, you will do good things that bring him joy... and help others along the way!
