Restoration Usually Comes On The Heels Of Disruption

David wrote Psalm 51 after he had sinned with Bathsheba. His actions would be followed by grave consequences. One of these consequences was the death of his infant son who was conceived from that sin. The psalm chronicles his prayer of repentance to God asking Him to restore the joy of salvation which he had lost along his wayward way. He knew God enough to know that while he had not lost his relationship with Him, he had forfeited joy, which was a constant outcome of that relationship.

God was faithful and did forgive him and restored their relationship. The proof of that was in the birth of Solomon who was called Jedidiah because “he was loved by God”.

Our God is in the business of restoration. It is not something we can manufacture or concoct but it is something in which we actively participate and make room for. Your life might seem like it’s in ruins because of a detour that you took foolishly. Maybe for no fault of yours you find yourself in a wreck. Things may have happened long back but they still cause pain and harm to you in the present.

Jesus cares for you as much as He did for the people He met while on earth 2000 years ago. He healed people not just of physical sickness but of mental ills and spiritual deadness. He cared for the whole individual, not just the visible parts of their lives. He urged them to look at their hearts for out of it flowed the issues of life. He asked them to love Him with all of their heart, soul, mind and strength. It couldn’t get more wholesome than that.

Think it through:

Will you trust God with your healing?

Pray for it:

Will you ask Him to restore you completely bit by bit every day?

Choosing Restoration

The Spirit of God is actively involved in our daily renewal and transformation so that we emerge more like Jesus. Restoration is a part of this renewing work and is a necessary part of the Christian’s life. Without it, we would not be able to break free from old patterns, attitudes, habits and behaviours. This Bible Plan will help you take the first steps of a lifelong journey of restoration.
