LET FREEDOM FLOW

When we receive the forgiveness of Jesus by faith, receiving God’s Love through the Sacrifice of Christ, we’re adopted into the Family of God! And like any newborn child, we start off by needing to learn everything - how to eat, walk, talk, and live.

Babies learn by mimicking the people around them, and we, as children of God, learn the same way - by imitating the way of Jesus through the Power of the Holy Spirit (God’s Personal Presence to lead and guide us). And one of the crucial foundations of all of this is believing and trusting that Jesus has truly set us free. In Him, we’re free from things like the dominating power of sin and having to obey the desires of our flesh. And in Jesus, we’re also free to truly love God and love our neighbor the way God always intended.

Freedom is a gift, and it’s important for us to both receive this gift and also use this gift in the right way for the right purposes. Jesus didn’t set us free so we could return to our sins or the unhealthy patterns and behaviors of the world. His Freedom flows to us through Salvation and should flow through us to others!

That means when we love our neighbor, we’re actually a pathway for God’s Love to flow through us. Each conversation, interaction, and situation we’re in is an opportunity to bring the Light, Hope, and Freedom of Jesus to others. Take a step today to shift your perspective and look for those opportunities all around you!

Consider: Think of some times when Jesus interacted with the people around Him, like the woman at the well. How did Jesus impact her and the others around Him? Ask yourself, “Do I look for opportunities to share Christ’s Love in my relationships?”
