Finding Your Cyrus

There is nobody useless on the earth. A snake is the symbol of evil, but even the Bible points to a fact that we need to observe its wisdom. Although the snake commonly represents wickedness, the Bible still tells us that we must be just as wise as the serpent, yet harmless like a dove. A snake is one creature that works with strategy, rather than the overexertion of effort. Every other carnivorous animal has to fight to eat, but the snake is all about strategy and timing. All it takes is a snakebite to pull a whole water buffalo down. The snake does not need to chase. All it needs to do is coil itself around the prey, and in no time, the life is squeezed out of them. The snake’s wisdom saves it from the struggle that other animals have to go through. A lioness, in all of her strength and splendor, still has to hunt and chase down her prey. A hyena may still have to fend off a group of lions in order to survive. I have never seen a serpent fight. All I have seen was a serpent launching an attack, and that was the end of it. It's wisdom that gives the serpent precision while it is striking. This is something that we can observe and yearn for when applied in the correct context.

What strategy have you observed from the seemingly immoral people who surround you? Saul had a jealousy issue and an evil spirit, yet God saw it fit that David should still be under his leadership. What he learned under the tutelage of Saul, gave him the backbone to be able to occupy his own throne when the time came. Through learning how to deal with demonic possession, David also understood the power of music, and thusly, the book of Psalms was written. Likewise, Prophet Samuel was given to the training of Eli, a man who had no control over his own son's immoral behavior that happened right under his nose. Yet, God saw it fit for Samuel to grow up in that atmosphere, and he developed such a sharp prophetic gift as a result of it. Your Cyrus may not be the golden standard for morality, but take the time to observe what you can, and learn what you need to learn under them. These lessons are vital for elevation.

Connecting to your Cyruses means more than merely tolerating their differences, but it means that you are actively observing their ways in order to learn from them, or you are purposefully engaging them in the things of the kingdom. The Bible talks about the wicked that sit and devise evil, and how they do not rest until they have accomplished it. That means, they observe the innocent, who are the opposite from them, and they get fresh demonic ideas on how to carry out their attacks. Meanwhile, the children of God are comfortable where they are. There is an error. We need to be passionate about gleaning knowledge from those who are vastly different from us. As dedicated as the kingdom of darkness is to carry out evil, we should be even more dedicated to have the most up to date information and strategies to enforce kingdom mandates on the earth, but it will not happen until we start to connect with our Cyruses.
