In the Shadows预览
Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Romans 5:1–5 again.
- What progression do you notice in verses 3 and 4?
- What does it teach us about what might be happening behind the scenes when it seems like God is absent?
- What questions do you still have?
A: Application
- One of the main reasons many people give for their lack of faith in God is the presence of suffering in the world. Yet personal suffering is one of the main things that helps deepen our faith. What do you think God's word says about this?
- How have you seen personal suffering grow deeper faith or stronger character in you?
- What would change about your perspective if you were to embrace difficulty as something God can use to be glorified?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer about a difficulty you're in now. Ask God to reveal what you can learn through the experience as you pursue God in prayer. Then say thank you for all the ways God is working even when we can't see it right away.
读经计划介绍
As we grow and experience more life, we might find the shadows of doubt or questions creeping towards us. Rather than running from the shadows, we can look to God to cast some light on the situation. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll take a look at stories that draw us closer to God's light whenever we feel lost in the shadows.
