31 Values to Pray for Your Kids预览
Biblical Self-Esteem
We desire our children to understand their worth and value as God defines them. Oftentimes, our self-esteem is distorted; using a superficial measurement, we want them to find their identity and confidence rooted in the truth of how God sees them.
Ephesians 2:10 reminds us that we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works. We pray that our children will recognize that they are wonderfully made by God, with unique talents and a particular purpose. Their true worth comes from being crafted by the Creator for His divine plans.
Psalm 139:14 speaks of being fearfully and wonderfully made. We desire our children to internalize this profound truth, celebrating their unique qualities and understanding God intentionally designed them. May they see themselves through God's eyes, recognizing their intrinsic value and the beauty of His creation within them.
The story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 illustrates the power of knowing your identity in God. Despite the daunting challenge, David's confidence was rooted in his understanding of God's support. We pray our children will draw inspiration from David's example, finding courage and self-assurance in their relationship with God, regardless of obstacles in their lives.
Pray:
Father, in Jesus’ name, we lift our children to you, asking that you help them understand their true worth and identity in you. Help them to see themselves as your masterpieces, created with purpose and intentionality. May they embrace the truth that they are fearfully and wonderfully made, finding their confidence and self-esteem in your love and design. Guide them to walk in the assurance of their value, rooted in their relationship with you, just as David did. Protect them from the lies of the world that seek to diminish their worth, and help them always to remember that their true identity is found in you. We pray in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus, amen.
