Prophecy of a Bright Future

Once, I sincerely believed that my life would be played out according to the dire circumstances of my childhood. I was born out of wedlock and in poverty. But our Heavenly Father had other plans for me. My destiny of failure would become one of victory.

My life was changed when God revealed Himself to me. The change did not happen overnight. It was necessary for me to learn what the Bible teaches, to change my thinking and apply the Bible’s principles in my life. It was not through a magical or instantaneous process, but rather through a series of daily decisions to follow the narrow path that is Jesus Christ Himself.

At the age of seventeen, I was leading the praise and worship at an anniversary service of the church I was attending. When I finished, as was my custom, I knelt at the altar to thank God for helping me fulfill that particular ministry. Suddenly and unexpectedly, the preacher who had been invited to speak stood up and said in a loud voice: “God is showing me that we need to pray for this young man.”

Through him, God said that my life would soon be victorious. At that time, one of the most recognized evangelists worldwide was the Puerto Rican Yiye Avila. The prophesy spoken over me was this: “You will reach more people with the gospel than Yiye Avila himself! But you must be as humble as a dove, astute as a serpent and fierce as a lion.”

As the years have passed by, I have always kept in mind that prophetic word that was given to me. At each stage of my life there has been growth and fulfillment, but always followed by an even greater and more challenging step. Today, I am part of the OneHope team that affects the lives of millions of children and young people, even entire families, through its ministry with the Word of God. These are people who, like me, are changing their destiny to victorious living through Jesus Christ.

Father God, Your plans for my life are bigger than I could ever imagine. Help me to be patient and faithful as I see Your plans unfold. Help me to grow in knowledge of Your Word. Help me to grow in character to be more like Your Son. Let Your Spirit guide my steps.
