Majestic: Devotions By Kari Jobe预览
Let the Heavens Open
This song is a heart cry for the power of God to be welcomed to move. For heaven to invade earth. There is a mighty exchange that takes place when we declare out of our mouths who God is. It shifts the atmosphere of our hearts and makes us more aware of His presence at work in and through us. I want us to be a people who live our lives in the freedom and power of the cross. Set free, healed, and delivered believers who walk in the authority we have over the enemy.
Taking the authority that Jesus gives us in Matthew 18:18—“‘Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven,’”—this song is a declaration for the heavens to open and God’s Kingdom to move.
Ezekiel talks about the heavens opening in order for him to see, hear, and be touched by God. Every time I come into God’s presence, I want to see and hear Him. I want to live my life in complete surrender and obedience to Him—a life in which I hear the Lord, and then move and navigate based on what God is saying. I want to live in a constant state of asking for the heavens to open and His Kingdom to move. Because of Luke 10:19, we have the authority to speak, which allows the Kingdom of God to move and shift: “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
When the heavens would open up in visions and God was revealed, the people always had a powerful experience. It’s my heart’s desire for us as believers to be more aware of His presence and get more heavenly perspective of what God is doing here on earth. I want to know what He is saying about me and about my life so I can live in obedience—doing whatever God says to do. So may our heart cry be “let the heavens open” and move more powerfully in our lives.
