OVERCOMING FEAR 

The dictionary defines fear as 'An unpleasant emotion caused by threat of pain, danger or harm.' Cricketers are considered demi-gods in India and the pressure to perform and be on top of our game is constant. Apart from the very real pressures of being a cricketer, I have a number of fears which I constantly battle. I face the Fear of failure, Fear of not living up to the expectations of people and myself , Fear of not being able to perform or achieve. 

I experience these on a daily basis. I have found more and more that I need to overcome these fears to live the best life that God has in store for me. I hope that as you read this you too will face your fears and be able to overcome them and live victoriously. 

God repeatedly encouraged his people saying 'Do not be afraid,' yet we can be such fearful living creatures. Deuteronomy 31:8 says, “He will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid, and do not be discouraged.' 

We need to find peace and joy in knowing that God is with us, as he promises, no matter what our circumstances are.
