Keep your eyes on Jesus

In this life, we are often tempted away from the side of our Lord. We take on more activities than we should and neglect our responsibilities to Him. We are called, chosen and equipped for spiritual work for the Lord, but so often we put all that to one side and go off and seek worldly pleasures instead. Keep your eyes on the Lord Jesus, on whom you depend, and get back to the task He has given you to do.

Your prime objective is to be in right standing with your Lord and to obey the task He has entrusted to you. Do not stray from Jesus’ side. Do not be distracted by the temptations of the world.

Don’t give up your loyal service for the Lord. He is waiting for you to take up those tasks and perform them well, giving Him honor. Keep your eyes on Jesus. If we work well at what is entrusted to us, we will be rewarded. We should not look just for the reward but work diligently and faithfully.

As we go through life and serve God in faithfulness, using what He has given us to the best of our ability, we can be sure of a reward from Him one day. Those who refuse to believe in Jesus, who live according to their human nature, will not receive the reward of eternal life. Think about how you can serve the Lord. He determines whether or not each person will receive the reward of eternal life.

Prayer

Lord, I look to You, the Author and Finisher of my life. May I work faithfully for You every day of my life. Amen.
