Advent: The Hope of Christmasنموونە

Day 18: Shine Your Light
In the 1700’s, Irish catholics would put lit candles in their windows and leave their doors unlocked as a sign that it would be safe for priests to stop by their home. This was a way for them to practice their beliefs. This tradition would later come to America and become a sign for those who needed a place for shelter and food.
Hebrews 13:16 says, “And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased."
In a season, where many are facing life difficulties from job losses, unpaid bills, homelessness, and so many other things, we were called to shine our light in every area of life. We have been called to serve others. Even if it's as small as preparing a meal for a family or giving a gift card to someone to be able to celebrate christmas. Everything we do has an impact.
This is just one of the ways we can demonstrate our love for Christ, by showing compassion and caring towards others during our time here. No one can do life alone. We need each other to get through this life.
May the light of Christ shine brightly through our heart, homes, churches, and communities.
