Moses reminds the people to guard against pride when they begin to enjoy the rich blessings that await them in Canaan and not to forget how the LORD saved them in the past.

[Moses said:] “Never forget the LORD your God or turn to other gods to worship and serve them.”

Reflect

How did God care for the people throughout their forty years in the desert? What warning is given if the people fail to obey the LORD?  Have you ever experienced consequences as a result of not acting according to the will of God?

Pray

Merciful and loving God, I thank and praise you for your constant love and care. Help me never to forget that you are the source of all blessings. May all I say and do this day bring glory and honor to you. Amen.
