Daily Bible Reading – August 2021: God’s Word of Promiseنموونە

August 8
Introduction
When God spoke from Mount Sinai, the people became fearful that they would die. God told Moses to teach the people God’s laws and to reassure them that all would go well with them if they obeyed God’s laws.
Today’s Scripture Reading
Deuteronomy 5:23-33
Today’s Key Verse: Deuteronomy 5:32b
[Moses said:] “Be sure that you do everything that the LORD your God has commanded you. Do not disobey any of his laws.”
Reflect
As the Israelites were about to enter and occupy the land that God was giving them, they were told to obey God’s laws. Why was this important? Is obeying God’s laws relevant for life today? Why or why not? What serves to guide your community of faith?
Pray
Lord God, remind me of your everlasting covenant and teach me to obey your laws and to serve you faithfully. Amen.
Prayer Concern
Church Councils
Tomorrow’s Reading
Deuteronomy 7:1-26: The people belong to the LORD.
