The Road Less Traveled - a Lent Journey for Teensنموونە

Mourn with Hope
Paul says we should mourn with hope. What does this even mean? Well, there are ways of mourning that can be very destructive. A self-centered pity party only leaves you more broken than before. That is not the way to mourn. It is not very hopeful or helpful.
Holding on to hope is super important when you have a terrible day, lost a friend, or feel there is no meaning to life. Hope helps us realize that where we are and what we're going through right now is not the end. God uses hopeless situations to take us into something new.
In Revelation, John talks about extremely challenging times that will come, but we should not be depressed. Have you read the end of the Book? Jesus wins! There is hope!
We take our sadness to meet with our savior, Jesus. He is a good God. He is with us, and He will give us the strength to get through every challenge we might face.
Exercise:
Share your hopeless situation with Him and trust Him to do a good work in you.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I ask for the grace of tears to weep over my losses.

Lent is where we walk with Jesus for 40 days. We are going to look at the Beatitudes of Jesus. These are sayings from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount. We live in a world filled with uncertainty, fear and anxiety. The beatitudes invite us to live in a new way in this world of ours. Together, we are going to explore new ways to live life.
