Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!

S: Scripture

If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.

O: Observation

Read Isaiah 57:15 again.

  • How would you summarize this verse?
  • What does it teach us about God's holiness?
  • What promise does it give?

A: Application

  • What's something that has you feeling down or held back right now?
  • How does this passage invite you to view oppression differently?
  • How can you lean on God's power to support you during hard times?

P: Prayer

Spend some time in prayer about a time you've felt held back or discouraged. Ask for help, trusting God to support you when you're down. Then, thank God for the ways God's power and consistency can help transform your point of view.

Wonder

Have you ever stood in awe of a natural wonder—a pristine glacier, a golden sunset, or vast ocean—and been amazed by its beauty? These remind us of the incredible God who created everything. So, what would it look like to live every day in awe of our Creator? For the next 28 days, we’ll explore what it means to worship—not just with songs or prayers, but with the way we live. Our lives are shaped by our response to the wonder of who God is, and we’ll see when we worship, we get to know God more.
