Conquer Comparison

Have you ever heard that comparison is the thief of joy? Well, it’s true. Satan wants nothing more than to steal your joy, sis. This is when the battle begins. For instance, instead of being happy that someone you know is going on an extravagant vacation, he infuses thoughts of you not having enough money or time to take a vacation like that. Instead of being joyful, you find yourself becoming jealous, and suddenly, you're in a snare of comparison.

Comparison also robs us of doing what God has called us to do with a happy heart. When we’re too focused on what someone else is doing and drooling over their successes, we can’t fully enjoy what God is doing in our lives. Satan wants us to look to the left and right, instead of focusing on the purpose that is laid out straight before us. We conquer comparison by keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, while also putting our hands to our own plow.

Truth is, God has a plan for you, sis. He wants to use your gifts. He wants to use your hands. He wants to use your voice. So, be you.

Remember, one will plant and another will water– but it is God who brings forth the increase. You don't have to strive for someone else's spot or race ahead to prove your worth. There is room for you at the table. There is a position with your name on it. There is a place perfectly prepared for you.

So stand strong through spiritual warfare by conquering comparison with joy, focus, and using the gifts God has given you. Defeat it by cheering others on when there is a celebratory moment. Lastly, counteract Satan's lies by walking boldly in your calling and overpower his invading thoughts by speaking God’s word over yourself. This is how you conquer comparison.
