Day 2 – God Can Use Reluctant Leaders
Devotional:
Some of God’s greatest leaders resisted their calling at first. Moses begged God to send someone else. Jonah tried to run in the opposite direction. Gideon hid from the enemy before becoming a “mighty warrior.” Even modern figures like King George VI and Martin Luther King Jr. stepped into leadership hesitantly. If you feel hesitant about the responsibility God has placed before you, you’re in good company. God’s call is not about your readiness—it’s about His readiness to work through you when you simply say yes.

Bible Verse: Exodus 4:13 – “But Moses said, ‘Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.’”

Discussion Question: Have you ever tried to avoid a leadership role or responsibility? What might God be asking you to say yes to right now?

Closing Prayer: Father, when I feel reluctant or fearful, give me the courage to step forward in obedience. Remind me that Your strength is made perfect in my weakness. Amen.

Who Does God Use?

God often chooses the unlikely, the reluctant, and the imperfect to lead. This 5-day devotional explores how He calls and equips ordinary people to influence the world for His glory. Through Scripture, reflection, and prayer, you’ll discover that your placement is intentional, your weaknesses can be strengths, and your leadership is ultimately about pointing others to Him.
