Addiction Rewritten: Addiction Takes, God Provides

ڕۆژی7 لە 30

When addiction ignites anger, God provides peace.

When we are overcome with shame or fear, we often come face-to-face with something much more dangerous. Anger is like a full pot of water left on the stove for too long. At first, it simmers. But over time, the heat builds until it eventually boils over. Once your anger has built up for so long, you can lose control over it and find yourself snapping over small things, yelling when you're really hurting, or isolating because it’s easier than facing the problem. And just like a pot left unattended, anger doesn’t just burn you — it scorches everything around you.

That’s where God steps in. Not only does he turn down the heat, but He offers something entirely different: peace. He helps you name the hurt underneath the rage, and gives you the strength to choose compassion over bitterness. Let today be the day you take the pot off the stove, and let Him begin to cool what’s been boiling for too long.

Prayer

God, I’m tired of being angry. I’ve held in so much for so long. Please calm the storm inside me. Help me let go of the anger and hold on to Your peace. Amen.
