Day 26: Pray and Keep on Praying

Pray. Pray all the time. It is essential to life. And when you pray, as you pour out your heart and talk to God, listen. Prayer is an active dialogue between you and God. Our words do not simply float around randomly, but God actually hears our prayers. He often orchestrates details beyond our understanding to answer our prayers, sometimes in ways that are clearly revealed and sometimes in ways that are not.

I recently experienced a powerful example of how God connects our lives with those of others. When I walked into a nearby company office, a woman I had never met before greeted me with, "I am so glad you are feeling well; we were praying for you." Her words shocked me, as I had actually never met her before in my life. As we continued to talk, she revealed that she had prayed for me while I was in the hospital. There was a prayer chain going on, and she and her church prayed for me. This encounter served as a poignant reminder of how we, as believers, can pray for one another.

I know that friends, family, and community members, both locally and globally, prayed for me when I was in the ICU, and it was miraculous to meet someone I had never met and stand in awe of how God connected the pieces of our lives together. Keep praying! It works!!!

Moment of Reflection:

When you pray, do you take time to listen to what God is revealing to you? What was the last thing God spoke to you? If you are having a hard time hearing Him, read His Word and invite Him to talk to you.
