Bits And PiecesSample
Teamwork can be a very important aspect of the gaming experience. Anyone who has ever played an online multiplayer game can attest to that fact. I have yet to play one of these types of games, but I’ll never forget when I was in a tournament league at my local arcade. I was teammates with my best friend on one of the most popular, two-on-two basketball games at the time.
It was a blast! I’ll never forget this amazing memory. I was the three-point shooter, while my best friend was in charge of defense and the slam dunk. We were the youngest people in the league, but we were actually pretty good! We didn’t win the championship, but we made it amazingly far. It felt so good to celebrate victories with my best friend at my side.
If we were playing solo competitions, it would not have been as fun - or as fulfilling. It would have been a lot harder to win too. Any gamer can tell you that computer generated A.I. (artificial intelligence) is nowhere as good as another human being on your team.
It is the same way in real life too. God has designed us to NEED human interaction. He made us to desire and seek friendship with others. When you work on a team, you have better results from your work! You will also have someone there to help you in times of need.
No man is an island, yet it can become very easy for people to become self-imposed hermits - especially gamers. This is not healthy. As today's Bible verse shows, those who are alone have nobody to help them up when they fall.
So, let us cherish the friends we have. If you don’t have any friends, reach out to like-minded and positive people! Get involved with your local Church and volunteer. There are many ways to make friends, but sometimes it takes work. There is even a Church for gamers called Godsquad! They have a great online fellowship service in place as well that can help you get connected. Reach out today, and enjoy friendship the way God intended.

About this Plan
It is my hope that you put down the controller and pick up your Bible. It is vital for us to broaden our horizons in life. This is especially true for gamers, who have a high tendency to be more isolated than most people. This devotional should help you be more aware of the spiritual lessons contained in a lot of the games we play. Praise be to God!
