Bits And PiecesSample
I don’t know about you, but sometimes I’ll try to jump right into a new game without even trying to read up on the basics. I don’t bother to consult the instruction manual, partake in the tutorials, or look at a walkthrough. I like to think I’m this big “macho gamer man” that doesn’t need any instructions. “I can do this,” I mistakenly believe.
And what usually happens in this situation? Sometimes, I may actually make it past the first level or mission. It will seem like I’m doing a really good job. Then—BAM—a giant Behemoth monster will jump out of a local bush and decimate my party. Then the familiar “game over” screen will pop up, and I will drag my head like a defeated little puppy.
At this point, if I haven’t already, I will give in and consult the instructions. I will look for advice, and humbly admit that I don’t know it all. I will confess my inability to proceed without the proper training and equipment. Wouldn’t it be a whole lot easier if we just read the instructions FIRST? Wouldn’t it save us a whole lot of pain and suffering if we just sought out wisdom BEFORE the giant Behemoth monster jumped out of the bushes?
The good news is that games have instructions, tutorials, and walkthroughs to help us succeed in our gaming adventures. The BETTER news is that life does too! As today's Bible verse states, ALL scripture is for our instruction and success! We need to be consulting God’s word continually and consistently if we want the best life possible.
Not only will it make life easier when we search His word BEFORE setting out on the adventures of the day, it will also equip us for EVERY good work! We will be empowered to be the best lights we can be, so we can shine with God’s glory! So, let us not be afraid to “give in” and read up BEFORE that Behemoth monster of life jumps out of a nearby bush!

About this Plan
It is my hope that you put down the controller and pick up your Bible. It is vital for us to broaden our horizons in life. This is especially true for gamers, who have a high tendency to be more isolated than most people. This devotional should help you be more aware of the spiritual lessons contained in a lot of the games we play. Praise be to God!
