Bits And Pieces

DAY 2 OF 10

Every gamer knows that if you want to become stronger and more effective in whatever game you are playing, you need to practice. It doesn’t matter if you’re playing a game where you’re earning “experience points,” or if it’s just the simple fact of putting in more time to get better. You need to grow if you want to win.

The same holds true in our spiritual life. As the Apostle Peter points out in today’s Bible verse, we must continually GROW in our walk with Christ! If we are not growing in our relationship with God, that can only mean one thing. We are slipping backwards! We must constantly be seeking to learn more about God and His ways. How do we do this? Peter further describes our process of growth in 2 Peter 1:5-8. We must continually be ADDING various aspects of Christian life to our daily walk. There are many ways we can do this, but they all must find their root in God’s word— the Holy Bible. We must constantly be digging into Hs word to find out what we should be doing in any given circumstance. Only in His word can we find out how to pray, how to worship, how to fellowship, and the list goes on and on.

So, just like we aim to grow in our gaming skills, let us aim to grow in a much more important area of our lives—God’s grace and knowledge. Let us arm ourselves with the true knowledge that will give us the power to be Children of the Most-High God. If we can devote hours upon hours of “grinding time” into building the strongest game characters possible, just imagine how much focus we should be putting on building the strongest spiritual life we can!

About this Plan

Bits And Pieces

It is my hope that you put down the controller and pick up your Bible. It is vital for us to broaden our horizons in life. This is especially true for gamers, who have a high tendency to be more isolated than most people. This devotional should help you be more aware of the spiritual lessons contained in a lot of the games we play. Praise be to God!
