FEARLESS - Boldly Pursuing Jesus And His MissionSample
Do you put God first in your decisions?
As Abraham and his nephew Lot were traveling out of Egypt into a new land that God was going to give them, there was some tension that grew between the two of them. Abraham had a large amount of flocks and herds, and so did Lot. They weren’t great at sharing with each other, so they decided to split ways.
Even though Abraham was the elder, which means he should’ve had first pick of the land, he was generous to Lot and allowed him to settle in the land where he liked. Lot chose a fertile land but was also near the sinful city of Sodom. It was a seemingly good choice at first, but turned into a deadly, terrible decision in the end.
Abraham chose to prioritize what God desired, and it lead him to a place that accompanied the promise God had previously given him – that his descendants would be more numerous than the dust on the earth.
Life presents us with many choices: to give or to take, to celebrate or to demean, to serve or be served. When we stop making choices in God’s direction, it leaves us with the only option of choices in the wrong direction.
God wants the priority in all our decisions. Think of a time when you made a poor choice. What made it a poor choice, and how would you make a different decision today?

About this Plan
God has given His people a purpose: to connect everyone to Jesus and his mission. In order to pursue the mission of Jesus, we cannot have a faith that is timid or cowardly. As we spend time looking at the life of Abraham, a man of courageous faith and sacrificial obedience, we will be challenged to be FEARLESS for the mission of Jesus.
