Do you know anyone who’s selfish? You know, someone who lives only for themselves? And do you know anyone you’d consider to be selfless? Maybe it’s the person who always asks how you’re doing or is always willing to help. Think about those two people. Now ask yourself: Which person would you rather be more like? 

When it comes down to it, we all have a tendency to live for ourselves—yet we all WANT to be the other kind of person. But HOW do we become the selfless kind of person? You see, it’s usually not enough just to “try harder” to be a nicer person. It might work for a day, but it doesn’t last. Instead, we need to stay close to the God who’s willing and able to transform us into someone more like Jesus—the only One who lived a perfectly selfless life. In other words, we need to stay close to the Source of selflessness.
