DAY 3: ALL UNDER THE POWER OF SIN
We need to remember that we are saved by faith, there was nothing we could do to save ourselves before Christ came into our lives. Without Him, we were under bad circumstances, we were all under the power of sin, no one righteous, no one who was good enough. You can’t say ‘I’ve lived a good life’ or ‘I have given to charity, surely that will save me’.
The power of sin is only broken by one thing: faith in Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross. Jesus is the only door. Initiated by God, because He loved us so much, He gave His Son as a doorway to eternal life, freedom from sin, and life abundant.
So, Paul, the great equaliser, is telling a divided church in Rome that nothing they did earned their salvation, not their ethnicity, not their thinking, not their righteousness by the law. Nothing but Jesus Christ can save you. Remember that today as you walk with Him.
