I Have Questions: Is Vaping Okay?

DAY 3 OF 5

Let’s be honest: Sometimes the idea of wisdom and living as a wise person sounds a little boring. That’s why verses like this don’t exactly get us fired up or excited:

Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise (Ephesians 5:15 NIV).

We think living as a wise person means never hanging out with friends and rarely doing anything fun. But nothing could be further from the truth!

When we choose to live as wise people, we aren’t choosing to live a boring life; we’re actually choosing to live a FULL life—a life we’re proud of, a life with fewer regrets, and a life we were designed to live. In other words, we were created to walk in wisdom.

What does that look like? Well, you can start by asking this short question: What’s best for me in the long run?

When we ask that question in light of who we want to be and what God wants for our lives, it sends us in the right direction—toward wisdom! Should you and your friends go to that party or go to Taco Bell instead? Well, what’s best in the long run? Should you buy a vape pen or spend your money on something else? Well, what’s best? You see, these decisions aren’t about making life less fun; they’re about being intentional to fill your life with other things instead.

Today, write down, “What’s best?” on a notecard to carry around with you this week.

When you’re tempted toward making an unwise decision, pause and remember the question on your card: What’s best?
