Walking In Victory

DAY 10 OF 40

Every time I read these verses I can ́t help but imagine a puzzled Joshua thinking about what God had told him. Marching around the city and blowing the trumpets sounded like a, let ́s say, curious plan.

But there ́s something that changes everything and that sets us in the right perspective. When God starts talking to Joshua, the first thing He tells him before sharing the battle plan with him is that He had already given Jericho to them. They didn't have to fight for the city, it was already theirs. They were not fighting for victory but from victory. They didn't have to use their army, their weapons or their tactics to conquer Jericho. They only needed to obey to the letter what God was telling them. No matter how weird it sounded.

Sometimes we don ́t understand God ́s plans. We find His ways bizarre or unusual. Other times, the problem is that we don ́t get His timing and we give up hope. But, listen, the only thing we need to do is to trust God and obey His commands, regardless of the fact that we understand them or not.

Heavenly Father, please, help me trust Your plans and Your timing. Even when I don ́t understand the way You do things, give me peace and patience to wait until I see how You give me the victory. In Jesus name. Amen.

About this Plan

Walking In Victory

The book of Joshua teaches us to remember the promises God has given us and to trust God in everything He gives us to do. The same God who was with Joshua and the Israelites is with us today. He has given us the same promises and He wants us to claim the inheritance He has already given us. We pray this study helps you start walking in victory!
