Walking With JesusSample

Our Identity and Authority in Christ
The parable of the two sons is probably one of the most profound stories in the New Testament. We read of a father who has been waiting for his son to return after the son left the house and wasted his inheritance.
The father gave his son three things upon His return: a robe, ring and sandals. These three things represent the following:
- Robe - righteousness and the identity of a son
- Ring - power of authority
- Sandals - power of representation
Jesus said that He has given us all authority because it has been given to Him. Authority can only be accessed from a position in Christ.
Reflection questions (write your answers in a journal):
- What position or function was the son willing to take in the house of his father after he came to his senses?
