Walking With JesusSample
Healing, Deliverance, and Restoration
Jesus’ death on the cross did not only make provision for the forgiveness of our sins but also for us to be healed, restored and delivered. God wants us to be healed in spirit, soul and body.
We often struggle not only with physical sickness, but also emotional sickness. Depression, rejection, fears etc. that we have can be a major stumbling block in our lives. In Luke 4: 18-20 Jesus promised that He came to set the captives free.
We need to know that God will sometimes heal instantaneously, while at other times He heals over a period of time.
Keys to receiving healing, restoration and deliverance are:
- Repentance (towards God)
- Forgiveness (of God, yourself and other people)
- Renunciation (to walk away from sin)
Self-discovery:
- Has God changed the way He does things? (Hebrews 13:8)
- Why did Jesus come to earth? (1 John 3:8)
- What did Jesus promise His followers? (John 14:12)
- Does God want to use us in signs, wonders and the working of miracles? (Mark 16:18-20)
Action:
Think of someone who needs physical healing. Take ten minutes to pray for that person today.
Testimony:
One day I received news about a student who had been in a terrible accident. He had been cycling when a car drove into him. He was taken to the hospital with severe head injuries. I arrived at the hospital to find that it was much worse than I expected. According to the doctor, he had a one percent chance of survival and had already lost most of his cognitive abilities. We immediately started phoning believers and asked them to pray. Over the next three months, we anointed and prayed for him daily. God began doing one miracle after another and his condition kept improving. After four weeks he was out of the Intensive Care Unit and speaking normally. After two years he was cycling again and even competed in a local race. The doctor, who wasn’t a Christian, confessed: “This is truly a miracle from God.” We serve a God of miracles!
