Help Others Get Connected. Part 2Sample
Now that a few new folks are coming around your campus ministry or church college ministry, how can you help them get really attached? How can you help them form lasting bonds with you or other members of your group?
One way is to Pray Together. There is something special about spending time in prayer with other believers. Perhaps it is the intimate act of prayer itself that does this work. I’m not talking about a short prayer for our food, but really digging into the act of prayer for one another and the campus.
You learn a lot about someone when you hear them pray. And you learn how to pray more effectively and fervently from praying with others and listening to their manner of prayer. When we pour our heart out to God in the presence of others, it creates a unique bond between us.
Yes, it may be awkward at first. It may only last a few minutes before you run out of things to pray about. Just grab some new students and a few old ones and spend some time praying for your ministry, those who are not yet believers on campus, and for an awakening on your campus together. You’ll be well on the way to adding many to your group if you do!
About this Plan
Last year we released 21 Days To Connect: Anchoring Your College Life. This year, we want to help you help others connect with this series of devotions. It is designed to encourage you to invest the first 21 days of the semester to helping others find the purpose and joy in Jesus that you have found, along with the connection to a solid community of other believers.
