Help Others Get Connected. Part 2Sample
Playing Together is another way to help new students connect to your group. I know, those scriptures don’t directly address playing together. But they do talk about disciplining our bodies and training our bodies. If you spend much time on campus, you’ll likely encounter many students engaged in training their bodies at the gym or running around campus tracks.
Fraternities and sororities encourage their members to work out regularly. They field intramural teams to foster teamwork. The gym or the intramural fields can be ripe places to meet new students for your Christian groups as well. It’s also a great way to get lost students to help you if you aren’t adept at gym routines or a sport.
Some groups even have their own games to get new students involved. Playing together can build camaraderie in a relative short time. In addition, it helps you stay in shape too.
So, get out there and go for a run. Put on your workout clothes and hit the gym. Invite students to join you in your favorite gave or activity. Just remember the secondary purpose is to connect with new students! Utilize every opportunity to expand your circle of influence today!
About this Plan
Last year we released 21 Days To Connect: Anchoring Your College Life. This year, we want to help you help others connect with this series of devotions. It is designed to encourage you to invest the first 21 days of the semester to helping others find the purpose and joy in Jesus that you have found, along with the connection to a solid community of other believers.
