Help Others Get Connected. Part 2Sample
Eating Together is a special bonding experience when done intentionally. I’m not talking about the grab and go variety, but a well thought out meal with new friends or strangers. This week, would you walk around the place where people eat on your campus and do some observing?
Look at the number of people who eat by themselves. Those who are eating with others, do they have their phones out? Are they really engaged or just sitting near one another while they both eat their own meals alone together?
Your family may not have had a family mealtime each day or each week, or even each month. I’m sorry you missed that if that is the case. If you did have them, you may be missing them now more than you thought you would. Either way, now is a good time to engage in purposely eating together. Put your phones away and really concentrate on spending quality time together around a meal, even one in the cafeteria!
You just might find some new family members in the process! Eating together can bond folks very quickly. Especially think about inviting an international student to share a meal with you. In many cultures it carries more weight than just the calories consumed!
About this Plan
Last year we released 21 Days To Connect: Anchoring Your College Life. This year, we want to help you help others connect with this series of devotions. It is designed to encourage you to invest the first 21 days of the semester to helping others find the purpose and joy in Jesus that you have found, along with the connection to a solid community of other believers.
