Take the LeadSample

Good leaders don’t get so focused on the project that they forget about people.
In the passage you will read today, Jesus was on His way to heal a dying child when a woman in need approached Him. Jesus could have easily kept on moving because he had something important that had to get done, and the woman would slow him down, but He didn’t. Jesus didn’t put the project, task, or job over the woman.
When you’re working on a project or getting something done, it is so easy to focus on that until you finish it. However, don’t get so focused on the project that you miss people. Don't miss the person who just needs someone to listen to them, the kid who’s lonely and needs a friend, or the confused person that needs a little extra help understanding the project.
Be interrupt-able. If you see someone that needs help, stop what you’re doing and help them! If you can include someone else in on what you’re doing (even though it might take less time if you do it yourself), let them join you!
People matter more than the project. Don't forget that.
What can you do today to make sure you don't put projects over people?

About this Plan

Jesus led by listening, loving, caring, and serving others. Jesus told His apprentices, “In this world the kings and great men lord it over their people... But among you it will be different. Those who are the greatest among you should take the lowest rank, and the leader should be the servant” (Luke 22:25-26). This is what it means to take the lead.
