Kong Hee: Found In The Arms Of God

DAY 3 OF 5

Does Prayer Really Work?

Some years ago, the Chicago-Sun Times newspaper did a report. The title was this: “Prayers Do Aid Sick, Study Finds,” and the opening sentence read,

“Research at San Francisco General Hospital has revealed that victims of heart attack, heart failure and other cardiac problems who are remembered in prayers fared better than those who are not.”

For many, this study came as a surprise because they have always held on to the belief that humans are nothing more than a mass of tissue and chemicals that happened to arrange itself without the help of a Creator. But for those of us who know God and have seen His work in our own lives through the power of prayer, we shouldn’t be surprised in the least!

In 2 Chronicles 7:14 we read, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray ... then I will hear from heaven.” Yes, prayer works. Prayer connects us to God and allows us to communicate with Him. It gives us direct access to our Father in heaven, and He is ever present to address all our concerns, big or small!

So stay close to God in prayer always, knowing that He is attentive to your every need and is aware of your heart’s deepest cry!

Prayer for the day:

Humble yourself before God today and pray, knowing that when you do, He will hear you and move on your behalf!

About this Plan

Kong Hee: Found In The Arms Of God

Depression is terrible experience—it feels like you are dropping down a dark, bottomless hole … with no hope in sight. But one of the greatest promises we have in the Bible is that He will “never leave you nor forsake you” (Heb. 13:5). And it’s through prayer that this promise is realized because prayer draws us close to Jesus Christ and ushers us into God’s very presence. So stay close to God in prayer always, knowing that He is aware of your heart’s deepest cry!
