GO2020 | ENGAGE: January Week 2 - WORDSample

January 25
Read
1 John 1:1-4
Reflect
Evangelism isn’t simply about freedom from sin and death—it’s about fellowship with each other and with God himself. When we invite people to become followers of Christ, we’re inviting them into a family. Yes, we will still suffer—with Christ and with each other. But even with suffering, being a part of this family gives us fullness of joy.
Engage
Reread the Scripture passage. You’ve now read it two days in a row. Does anything stand out to you differently than it did yesterday? Consider the ENGAGE questions again. Don’t be afraid of the repetition. We learn more about God each time we read and reread his Word.
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, John 17:3. Spend a few minutes committing it to memory.

About this Plan

What is the good news? Jesus offered his followers a full and fulfilling life, one that would not only last into eternity, but have eternal significance. He called it an “abundant” life, and he claimed that he was the only source of that life.
