GO2020 | ENGAGE: March Week 2 — CARESample

March 13—We Find Joy in Other’s Joy
Read
Philippians 2:25-30
Reflect
There was a special relationship between the Philippians and Paul and Epaphroditus. They sent Epaphroditus to minister to Paul while he was in prison. Epaphroditus carried out his mission, but almost died while with Paul, causing great distress to his home congregation. Paul, though greatly comforted by his brother, was willing to send him back, foregoing his support, in order to relieve the Philippians and bring them joy, as he had received joy from their generosity.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions.
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, Romans 12:15. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.

About this Plan

As Christians we are called to enter into the lives of others—to be with them in their triumphs and trials. This is not a call to fake it, acting like we care when we don’t, but rather to possess an authentic delight or a genuine empathy, whatever the situation calls for.
