1 Corinthians 11:25 NLT
... Do this in remembrance of Me.
Someone asked me, “what’s so good about Good Friday?” People wonder why Christians remember the gory death of Jesus on the Cross and then celebrate and call it Good Friday!
Remembrance always leads to celebration. And somehow, the one thing Jesus wants us to do is remember.
Remember His death.
Remember His sacrifice.
Remember His love.
That’s why He initiated the Communion table.
1 Peter 3:18 NKJV
For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God...
We remember that His death was the suffering for our sins. The Just One suffered on behalf of the unjust, on behalf of us.
That day was a day of accusation, rejection, abandonment, betrayal, unthinkable pain for Him, so that it could become a good day for us! That He might bring us to God; A Good Friday!
I want to encourage you to take Communion in your homes today. Remember Him. Thank Him. Celebrate Him. Tell somebody why it is called a Good Friday.
Meditate:
* 1 Corinthians 11:26 NKJV
For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lords death till He comes.
Pray:
* Thank God for His love for you, demonstrated on the Cross of Calvary.
* Pray for God’s mercy to sweep over our land.
* Pray that God would use you to share this hope with the hopeless.
