River Valley Church SOAP - Part 11Sample

The Book of Miciah's timeline can be traced to 735-747 BC. Micah was a prophet who lived during three kings of Judah; Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah. Micah grew up in the town of Moresheth, about 20 miles southwest of Jerusalem. He and his message were not well received because of his hometown and him not being from Jerusalem. Additionally, because of the fact that he challenged people to repent, specifically those of high societal status. The message he shared expressed God’s displeasure of how they lived; the false prophets only spoke of blessing and prosperity. Their message contrasted Micah’s speech of judgment because of the injustices God saw.
