What’s your fuel?
When you think about life, have you ever thought about where your energy comes from? For most of us, it's often a combination of eating healthy, drinking plenty of water, exercising regularly, getting a good deal of sleep and doing things that bring happiness to our lives. Or for some of us, our fuel mainly comes from coffee. A beautiful beverage that allows us to conquer any obstacle, challenge or barrier that presents itself and although perfect in principle, I think we’ve all gone through moments when coffee, eating healthy, exercising regularly and drinking water just wasn’t enough. For whatever reason, there just wasn’t enough fuel in the tank.
That’s because you were missing a vital part. Your energy doesn’t only come from physical nourishment, it comes from spiritual nourishment too. When you gave your life to Jesus you not only secured your salvation but His help too while on earth [Psalm 46:1-3]. A part of the sanctification process is about learning how to ask for God’s help [1 Peter 5:7], how to recognise when God is working in your situation [Rom 8:28] and how to become fully dependent on God [Proverbs 3:5-6].
PRAYER
God, I pray today that You would help me to rely on You as I do on everything else that I need in life. I pray that You would be the fuel of my life, the source of my strength and the one who I rely on for all of my needs. Fill me up today, with Your glory, and help me lean into Your supernatural supply. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
