Devotions From John's GospelSample

Jesus’ expression of love took Peter by surprise. He resisted being served by his master because of his respect for Him and his personal feeling of unworthiness.
However, Peter frantically reversed his position once he heard about the consequences of not being cleansed by the Lord – having no part in Him. Peter, as usual, went a bit far and offered himself to be bathed. Jesus patiently explained about being part of Christ.
Sister, brother, you have been a Christian all along; are you clean? What made you clean? Have you known Jesus cleansing you in a significant way? Please let Jesus cleanse you a little more in some way.
Prayer
Jesus, holy Lord, thank you for the privilege of being part of you and the people of God. Cleanse me more and keep me. You are my life.
Jesus might say…
My child, I know you inside out. I know your weaknesses also. I cleansed you with my blood. I shall continue to cleanse you and keep you close to my heart. You are mine!
