Devotions From John's GospelSample

After dramatizing “love in action”, Jesus sits down to teach His disciples. As their teacher and Lord, if Jesus Himself washed their feet, how much more they are bound to serve one another!
Mutuality in service is the character of the people of God’s kingdom. It is a beautiful rhythm of giving and receiving in love.
Dear sister, brother! Have you experienced this rhythm of mutual service in the fellowship of your church?
What are some obstacles to the free flow of this mutuality?
Please look into yourself – introspection to find if the stumbling blocks are within you. Think of a time when you experienced blessing or happiness as a result of serving others.
Prayer
Lord Jesus who came to serve, give me the heart of a servant, so that with humility and selfless love I may learn to love and serve others as you taught.
Jesus might say…..
My Child, I know it is not easy for you to love others as I have loved you. Humility and anonymity are the hallmarks of such love. I am with you to help you when you try to serve in love.
