The Prayer to Complete Our Calling

The next prayer for us from the Apostle Paul is that we complete our calling. We have to realize that we are all called to do something great for God. We are all called to fulfill His created purpose for us. As we discover our identity in Christ, we can also discover the gifts and callings that He has put in us. As the body of Christ, we all have different gifting that compliments each other but none of them are less important or valued than the other. Something we should take note of is that we are all gifted by God. It’s His gift on our life for His glory. Unfortunately, many people fall into pride thinking that this is their gift but we must realize that we have been given these gifts on loan and we will be held accountable for how we used them on the earth.

The prayer from Paul in today's scripture doesn’t just limit itself to discovering our calling and creative purpose but completing the call. In Hebrews, the writer admonishes us to run the race that is before us. In every race, there is a start and a finish. Maybe you’re in a zone right now of wanting to quit on God and your calling but be encouraged that you don’t have to do this alone! God’s power flowing through you coupled with a faithful community of believers in a local church can help you complete your calling. Don’t give up there are too many people counting on you to finish strong!
