Go Share Your Story
WHAT DOES IT SAY?
Read: John 4:31–38
WHAT DOES IT MEAN?
Does your story really matter??? The answer is YES!
In the passage above, Jesus breaks down the importance of why we must tell people about Him. In verse 35, Jesus said the harvest is ready; we just have to lift up our eyes and see it. When Jesus says “the harvest,” He’s talking about “people.” There are people right where we are who need to hear about Jesus.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO US?
Jesus tells us, “Lift up your eyes, and see…” There is something so important about SEEING the people in our own backyard. Why is that? Because if we do not see the people, we won’t reach out to them.
The Samaritan woman went back to where she came from. She didn’t search for a new people group; she simply went to the people near her. And what started in her own backyard ended up transforming people's lives in her entire city. Notice that Jesus said the harvest is plentiful. People everywhere are ready to hear about Jesus. We just have to lift our eyes and SEE them.
Do you see them on your school campus or at work? Or how about your family members? Jesus wants you to SEE them so you can share your story with them. What would happen if we just focused on reaching the people right where we are?
WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Today, write down four names of people you can share your story. Just like the Samaritan woman’s immediate response, don’t wait … go and share your story with them. Your simple story can change your backyard!
