MentorshipSample
Did you write down a few names of people you either are currently mentoring or could mentor in the future? Maybe you had a difficult time because you don’t think you are “mentor material.” First, don’t sell yourself short. Remember that perfection isn’t the quality we are looking for. All it takes is someone growing in their faith and seeking to imitate Jesus daily. You don’t need to have all the answers or be perfect in everything you do. As you read today’s passage in 1 Timothy, look around you and see who you can simply be an example to. Maybe it’s a sibling, a friend, or someone on social media that you don’t even know. Proverbs 27:17 tells us, “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Be that kind of friend to someone intentionally. Who are you investing in?
Next Step: Take a second right now to think about the areas God has blessed you- what gifts, talents, and abilities has he given you? How can you use those to be an example to others? Throughout your day, find people you can be an example to.
