Walk Through the Bible 365 - DecemberSample

Confident Or Condemned?
Obadiah’s condemnation of Edom echoes through time to 21st-century Hong Kong. Edom was built securely into the high rocks and hills. It dominated everything nearby. It was at the crossroads of an enormously profitable trade. It was rich, prosperous, and proud ... and stood condemned. Although its people, descendants of Esau, had many opportunities to turn to God, they had consistently chosen their own way. Today it’s our turn to choose.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, forgive me for too often trusting my own ‘smarts’ - my own strength and pushing you to the side. My faith sometimes rests on my job or bank account and not on you. I do not want to be like Edom. I choose to abandon my pride and follow you. Make my priorities yours, dear Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
