Letting Go and Letting God
In 1 Peter 5:7, God’s word says, “to cast all your cares on Him because he cares for you.” Yet why do God’s kids often release something, only to turn around and pick it up again? The reality is that they’re trying to handle their cares and concerns in their strength.
God wants us to trust Him. Proverbs 3:5 gives excellent advice: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” It’s time to let go and let God. This means completely trusting Him with all your cares and anxieties. When we acknowledge Him and let go, the Father shows up. When He does, He also shows off!
“Letting go” means not dwelling on the challenge, no matter how difficult the challenge may be. Don’t be so focused on it that you miss the promise of the Father. You know it's the voice of the Holy Spirit when he's encouraging you to focus on the solution.
“Letting God” means trusting Him, which means you may not be aware of the solution, but you know there is one, and He’s causing it to come to pass in your life!
A great encouragement found in Isaiah 41:10 (NLT) says, “Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.” As was shared in a previous devotion, it’s time to “drop the ball!” It’s time to stop worrying, stop juggling, and let God HANDLE it.
Letting go and letting God puts us in a place of peace that goes beyond our natural understanding, and how do we know when we have this kind of peace? That’s easy when it's ruling our hearts and minds!
That peace begins by first accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. Next, get to know Him, His character, and His heart for you. Then, meditate on the Word so that the transformation of your mind can begin. As your mind is transformed to the Word, you'll find He can handle "the struggle of the juggle!”
Reflection: Let the Father put His hand on the handle of all the challenges that come your way. Even God won’t handle what you refuse to release. So if you want something new in your hand, let go of what’s currently in it!
About this Plan
Juggling Life: Trusting in your ability to handle one or more challenges simultaneously. We all have challenges in our lives that we juggle. We juggle tasks, responsibilities, choices, etc. When you juggle something, it’s in your hands and out of the Father’s hands. This 10-day devotional teaches you how to let go and let God bring balance and order to your juggling life.
