David - Faithful Servant, Friend and KingSample

We discover the story of David in the books of 1 and 2 Samuel in the Old Testament.
David lived in Israel; he was a son of Jesse and had seven brothers. You might have heard of David from the story of David and Goliath. God chose David to become king though it would be many years before David would actually take the throne. Meanwhile, David humbly served his father in the fields looking after the sheep; he served his brothers, taking them food during their battle with the Philistines. David served Saul by playing the harp, carrying his armour, and faithfully leading his troops into battle.
David wrote many of the Psalms that we read in the Bible today. We will learn about faithfulness from the life of David; David was a faithful servant, a faithful friend, and a faithful king.
