David - Faithful Servant, Friend and KingSample

Age doesn’t make someone a better leader than someone else. Sure, the older someone is, the more experience and wisdom they might have, but you need more than that to be a good leader. Is it usually your oldest brother or sister that’s put in charge to be the ‘leader’? David was the youngest of his brothers; everyone assumed it would be one of the older brothers that the prophet Samuel would anoint as king; they didn’t even bring David into the room to choose from; he was out looking after the sheep.
You don’t have to wait to be given the title or job of leader to begin leading others. We can lead others in how we show kindness, how we help people, how we speak, and the example that we set. Being a good leader is all about developing a Godly character, which starts long before you get the job!
