GREATER THINGSSample
DAY 1: GREATER THINGS
Imagine the disciples sitting around a dinner table, reminiscing on the past three years they spent walking with Jesus. They laugh as they recall the Pharisees’ dumbstruck faces when Jesus gave them a question they couldn’t answer (Matthew 21:23-27). They cringe when they remember how Jesus actually put His spit in that blind man’s eyes to restore his sight (Mark 8:22-25). They talk about what it was like to see a crippled man get lowered down through a roof to meet Jesus… followed by him walking out of the room (Luke 5:17-26). And nothing could ever top seeing Lazarus emerge from his own grave (John 11:1-44).
If any of them had access to social media during those three years, #miracles definitely would’ve been trending. They witnessed Jesus perform so many miracles that if they were all to be written down, the world couldn’t contain the books that would be written (John 21:25).
So imagine their response when Jesus says, “That stuff was awesome, but I’m about to leave; and you’re about to do even greater things.”
Silence fills the room. A few of them let out awkward laughs. Peter might have sarcastically said, “Yeah, okay, Jesus.”
Greater things? Greater than healing blind eyes and telling a paralyzed person to run home? Greater than watching diseases disappear and dead hearts beat again?
Jesus was preparing His followers for all He wanted to accomplish through them. He was calling them to dream bigger.
And do you know the craziest part?
Jesus’ words weren’t just for His disciples. They echo through the pages of history to us. To you.
God wants to do greater things through you.
Miracles weren’t what He did. They’re what He does. And He loves to do them through us.
What if our problem isn’t that we ask too much, but that we expect too little? God has more in store for you than you have in mind.
As the disciples sat back and tried to figure out what Jesus’ words meant, it’s easy to imagine Jesus reclining back in His seat, looking at His dearest friends, and saying with a smile, “Just wait… You haven’t seen anything yet.”

About this Plan
Jesus did incredible things during His time on earth. And before He left, He said we would do even greater things after He was gone. That’s a huge promise coming from the One who walked on water and conquered death. But with God, what if we really are capable of more than we imagine? What if we have the power to change the world? What if greater things are ahead?
