At Christmas time we watch cute nativity plays that show Jesus’ birth and the events after, all in just a few minutes. Jesus’ birth was probably nothing like the sweet play we make it out to be. Yes, it is Holy and it's a miracle, but Jesus’ birth is so much more than just a cute story. That stable was probably messy, smelly, and cold. Mary and Joseph would have been exhausted after traveling to Bethlehem!

We’ve been reading the story of Christmas in the Bible, in the books of Matthew and Luke, and how Mary and Joseph were both told about the coming of God’s Son. Today it’s time to read about the birth of Jesus.
